Book Reading.
Avery's First Day of School is about a student who battles with fear and anxiety. As Avery contemplates this idea of school, his anxiety brings up negative thoughts than are crippling . In this book Avery learns from his parents that it's ok to be nervous before starting new things but never give up.
Journal Workshop.
Individuals will be introduced to journaling as a coping skill and emotional outlet. Individuals will use the 4R technique ( Recognize, Reflect, Resolve, Release) to journal and identify feelings. It is expected that individuals will walk away with the knowledge and value of journaling a positive coping skill that helps promote self care and wellness and destress management.
TRAUMA WORKSHOP.
Trained individuals on Adverse child experiences (ACES) and Trauma. Individuals will learn what ACES are and be able to identify their personal ACES. ACES are broken down into categories of traumatic events one may have encountered in childhood. It is expected that this training will prepare and train others on how to appropriately and safely respond to individuals with trauma and social and emotional concerns, particularly in children and adolescents.
